Em 1996, a Manchete levou Marcia Peltier para conduzir a apresentação do Jornal da Manchete para Atlanta, sede dos jogos olímpicos daquele ano. Na Copa da França, em 1998, a jornalista viajou novamente para de lá, apresentar o telejornal. Marcos Hummel ficou no Rio apoiando com as notícias nacionais.
